Father Christmas Adventure

Day Trips to Lapland - Are some better than others ?

Day trips to Lapland have not had the best press over the years, and the advent of some of the cheaper overnight holidays to Lapland have taken some of the sparkle away from that magical day trip to Lapland we have seen in the past.

We're delighted to offer a breath of fresh air into the Lapland Christmas market with a a new day trip to Rovaniemi.  Many of you will be thinking "Rovaniemi?" ... "don't you need to fly further into the Arctic to see Santa?" "What about the snow?".

Rovaniemi has had it's fair share of bad press over recent years, but Rovaniemi is the "Official Home of Father Christmas" and has been making a comeback, and is looking to regain it's crown as the place to see Father Christmas in Lapland.

Joulukka is at the heart of this regeneration, and is a delightful location in the heart of the forest however is only a short 20 minute drive from Rovaniemi, where on arrival you are magically transported into a special place where the magic of Christmas comes to life, and elves frolic in the snow.

It is a place where the true story of Christmas is revealed with idyllic buildings, mystical surroundings and Santa's elves to immerse you in your own Christmas fairytale.

The chance to attend Elf school, and to learn about the secret ingredients of Mrs Claus's gingerbread, and the fairytale trail may lead you Santa's Secret Command Centre where you can take the Rudolf Express to visit Santa himself ..... if you've been nice !!

I've personally been to Joulukka, and have met with Father Christmas and his Elf Elfina, and can attest that they are the one and only Father Christmas !!

This Lapland Father Christmas Adventure departs on the 18th December 2010 from London Gatwick
